MUSKET. Cal. about 58. NSN. Bbl. 45" rnd. w/ blade front sight & square rear sight groove. Early style miquelet lock as developed in Spain in the 16th century & throughout Mediterranean & Mideastern. Bbl., lockplate, hammer, tumbler, frizzen, trigger guard & lock screws have full coverage gold filigree. Floral vine type ornamentation. Full length wood stock w/ flared ivory buttplate. Incised carving's found around partially detached butt extension & wrist groove. Stock is held by 4 engraved metal bands. Iron ram rod. CONDITION: metal parts show scattered corrosion. Stock has dark appearance showing dents & handling marks w/ cracks at tip. Dark pitted bore. (01-17702/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,500.
